Falling In Love

Last week I learned a lesson in love that this week I have to put in practice. We traveled last weekend to a college to interview interns for the summer. These trips give us a time share the story of God’s work and see the working of the Holy Spirit in their lives. During our visit, I stayed with some dear friends. Their family is full of love and faithfulness and I am uplifted whenever I get to be with them. One member of this family teaches me more about Jesus every time I am with her. Her name is Katy. Katy contains in her the most powerful gift of love I have ever seen. I realized this time it was more than just love.
Katy has grown up loving people and treasuring them in her heart. When Katy was very young, her little body suffered a stroke, which has caused many life struggles. Now fifteen she still has many challenges but also has many more gifts. I learned this week from her how to fall in love again each time you see someone. I have always told people I love them but forgotten often falling in love with them. That is not how Katy sees people. Katy falls in love with you everyday. She allows you to be the star of her show; she puts your name in lights. She remembers everyday is the day she fell in love.
When I returned home, I took what I had learned to the street with me. When kids I had known for years came around I saw in them the joy and beauty I loved about them the first time I met them. I believe I had let this aspect of our friendship fade. I loved these kids, but I had forgotten to keep falling in love with them. Praise God Katy showed me again how to be more like her, and God. Everyday is a day to fall in love.

Robbie - As soon as I read this, I thought about all the ways I have forgotten to fall in love. I am constantly in the presence of a triggers that can easliy help me recall how to do this, yet I don't see them. I need to remember. I must remember. Thanks.
